GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR
The Golden Circle is one of the must-do day trips from Reykjavik. Our primary destinations allow you to visit the most stunning places on the South of Iceland.
Þingvellir National Park is a Unesco World Heritage site for its geological and historical importance. The National Park Þingvellir is characterized by the largest natural lake and it is a place where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia split and drift apart. The most famous one is the Silfra fissure where you can dive.
Haukadalur is a geothermal area, home of the famous Geysir. You can see how Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 meters (98 ft.) every 4 to 8 minutes. You can also walk around and discover mud pools and fumaroles.
Gullfoss (meaning “golden falls”) is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. You can explore the beautiful waterfall at close quarters and feel the mist of glacial water.
Next we visit the Skalholt church and Icelandic Horse Park (Fakasel).
This tour includes also a visit to the Friðheimar greenhouse, where you can learn about the growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes with the aid of the geothermal heat that is in abundance in Iceland. The nation is able to utilize this energy in growing green papers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. These vegetables find their use in the historic Icelandic cuisine that includes the use of fish, lamb and dairy.
